AUDITIONS

Studio Theatre Worcester will be holding Non-Equity/PAID audition for our production of SUPERHERO, a musical by John Logan with music & lyrics by Tom Kitt. Performances will be June 19-28, with rehearsals starting April 4.

 

Auditions will be held:

Monday, March 16 from 7:00–9:00 PM

Tuesday, March 17 from 6:00–9:00 PM

Sunday, March 22 from 6:00–9:00 PM

 

Please prepare a brief song in the style of the show (accompanist provided) and monologue (contemporary preferred).

SYNPOSIS:

Superhero tells the story of a mother and son grappling with a devastating loss and the mysterious stranger who helps them on their journey. Before we can save the world, we have to save each other. From the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer of Next to Normal and the Tony Award-winning writer of Red comes a deeply human new musical about a fractured family, the mysterious stranger in apartment 4-B, and the unexpected hero who just might save the day.

Simon - Male-presenting, 18+ 

Charlotte - Female-presenting, plays 45-55

Jim - Male-presenting, plays 40s

Vee - Female-presenting, 18+

Vic - Male-presenting, plays 40+

Dean Fulton - Male-presenting, plays 40+

Dwayne - Male-presenting, 18+

Rachel - Female-presenting, 18+

This is a Non-Equity production. All artists cast receive a $400 stipend. Auditions and rehearsals will be held at Salem Covenant Church (Worcester, MA). All actors cast are required to participate in load-in, tech weekend, and strike. All roles are open to performers of all races and ethnicities unless otherwise specified. Strong acting and emotional storytelling are prioritized.

Our marketing director is looking for several enthusiastic individuals to assist with creating content for Studio Theatre Worcester’s 2026 programming. Specifically, we are looking for people with interests in the following buckets: 

 

  1. Social Media Coordination
    - assist with posting and scheduling content
    - caption and press release writing
    - website management

  2. Videography / Video editing
    - capture video content at rehearsals and performances (horizontal and vertical)
    - edit videos and trailers for Reels, TikTok, and YouTube
    - film interviews and BTS teasers of programming

  3. Photography
    - capture rehearsal and tech week photos
    - photograph unique production-inspired shoots
    - edit all photos for website and social media content

  4. Graphic Design
    - design MainStage production posters and playbill covers
    - craft social media and website content designs (cast and crew features, infographics, reel cover photos, etc.)

There will be a small stipend available on a production to production basis.

Volunteers are crucial to non-profit organizations and the impact you have is monumental. If you would like to volunteer with Studio Theatre Worcester, please complete and submit the form below. While these positions are unpaid, volunteers often receive other benefits such as tickets to shows, swag, etc.
